It’s an easy way to make regular donations to us straight from your pay.
What are the benefits?
By giving to us regularly from your pay, we automatically receive the tax you would have paid on the donation (your payroll department sorts this out for us).
As you get tax relief on your donation at your top rate of tax for example, it will only cost someone who pays tax at the basic rate of 20 per cent, £8 to make a £10 donation to us. For someone who pays tax at the higher rate of 40 per cent it will cost £6 to make the same sized donation, and for a 50 per cent tax payer all they need donate is £5 and we will receive £10.
We do not need to claim Gift Aid back on this, so less admin for us and no Direct Debit needed from you.
Payroll Giving is also the only way for anyone paying 40 or 50 per cent tax to give us all their tax on a donation automatically.
How does it work?
Providing that your employer offers Payroll Giving it could not be simpler. All you need to do is request a charity nomination form from your employer which you then complete and return to the Payroll Giving Agency. This means that your choice of charity is confidential. This will authorise your employer to deduct donations from your pay. Your employer pays these donations to a Payroll Giving agency approved by the Inland Revenue. The agency then distributes the money to the Duchenne Research Fund. Once your donation is set up, you don’t have to do any more.
If your employer doesn’t offer Payroll Giving suggest they start one – it’s is easy and inexpensive to run.
